If you have wandered along the Capital ring path in the park recently you may have wondered why a nice new cabin has just appeared there.
It is for the Gurnell to Greenford “Greenwayers”, a group whose aim is to clear those lovely waterways we have running throught the park from litter. Here their “kit” will be stored, including footware (steel soled), protective waders, gloves, litter pickers, bags and hoops for the bags. They also do other activities, such as distributing aquatic plants along the banks of streams to help the wildlife get settled. Although the start of the 2020 “season” has been delayed, I am sure they will start up again soon, especially with such a lovely new base to operate from!
