Animal proof litter bins anyone?

Around 9 old litter bins in the park, often raided by animals in the past if they could smell food inside them, have been replaced by ones with animal-proof flaps!

The new ones are slightly larger (taller?). But will they cope with the detritus of a cricket match, as you can see in two photos just before the bins were replaced? (note that the old litter bin itself is actually half empty, with most of the litter arranged around the bin as if the perpetrators could not be bothered to push it into the bin).  We will keep an eye out, but this is a recurring summer feature of the park, unfortunately!

For a splash of colour, I have added two of the flowers now in the orchard meadows.
