A riot of colour in June.

June is of course for roses, and they are looking absolutely splendid in the orchard garden at the moment. I even got a comment about them being better than the ones in the Queen Mary garden, Regent’s park!

But if you carefully go up close in the four meadows next to the raised beds, you can find all sorts of wonderful colour. The carnations are all over the place; not sure if they were in the original seed mix or they are self-seeded. We know that the oriental poppies were and they are doing well.

A time to visit if you have not been recently – don’t miss the June display. Oh, and we notice another gardener has been active. Several of the apple trees have been propped up and the raised beds have had the grasses and other weeds removed. So whoever it was, an enormous thanks!
