Two hours ago, heavy rain fell in the neighborhood and we decided to find out what had happened. We quickly came across not one, but two herons eyeing each other up. One occupied the new stepping stones across the pond and the other appeared to fancy the position as well.
The ponds themselves are filling up nicely, now that the diverting pipe bringing them water has been opened up. The path up ahead still floods however, despite the attention given to levelling it up recently.
Costons brook, site of our re-wilding effort last saturday, is now a torrent and we are hoping the the iris we planted is not washed away. Quite a lot because of about one hour of rain!
Below you can see some of the videos taken during our walk.
