A few days ago I noted that many of the fruit trees in the park orchard were putting out new leaf buds. Well, what happens next? New flower buds!
The first photo shows something unusual as well, almost ripe fruit next to a new flower bud. Meanwhile the green leaf fall in the park continues, the oaks in particular are now shedding a carpet of such leaves, which turn brown on the ground and not on the tree. An unusual year indeed!
Postscript: Today the Cobnuts joined the fun by putting out catkins, normally seen in  February!
Now in full bloom (9 August, 2022).
