Snow and broad beans.

Yesterday’s snow has nicely highlighted something stirring in the raised beds, found in the orchard garden.

These are overwintering broad beans and we hope that by April-May they will have something edible to pick. The tips will need picking to keep black fly at bay. The beans were chosen also as a “soil improver”, hopefully replenishing some of the nitrogen that the tomatoes removed last year.

There are still two raised beds that need planting out with something, so pop over and give it a go!
