Close to the Nicky Hopkins bench in the park, on the site of the old bowling green, an orchard garden has started to take place.
The final layout will include an orchard with fruiting trees, grass paths, seating, raised beds for community use and small flower meadows. Currently turf is being installed to define the layout and this will shortly be followed by the fruit tree plantings. Updates to follow.
I’ve visited Nicky’s bench several times now having not been on the mailing list for the dedication event. It was not easy to find as started from Perivale Station when Ealing Broadway by bus is better.
I was fascinated by all the names as, although I’ve been listening to him since his days with Jeff Beck and the Jefferson Airplane, I’d missed so much of his work in between- much of which I can now listen to on youTube.
