The Green Flag award scheme aspires to Raising the standard of Parks and Green Spaces and is the International mark of quality. Earlier this year its judges visited Perivale Park, and we walked them around, showing the various points of interest. Now the judging is complete and we are delighted to announce that the coveted Green Flag has been awarded to the park. Thanks to everyone who made this possible, but especially to all the folks at Ealing Parks who pulled out all the stops this year for us!
Ealing this year has 22 entries, although it boasts some 150 parks and green spaces in total. To put this into more context, the nearby boroughs of Hillingdon and Hounslow have 70 and 21 respectively. The maps below have not yet been updated to reflect this year’s additions!
Now, go visit the other parks in Ealing, including the 22 with the Green Flag award! Then perhaps those in Hillingdon to see what they do to get so many!
Congratulations! A reward for your hard work.
Congratulations to the Friends of Perivale Park for so superbly supporting the Council in their bid to have at least 20 GF parks in Ealing. I’m glad the Ealing Greenwayers were also able to present their contribution to the blueway through the park to the judges.
Around Ealing has a video of Deirdre Costigan, local councillor for Northolt, showcasing Perivale Park as the 24th area to be awarded a Green Flag. A flagpole is now being organised and the flag will no doubt be hoisted in a few months time.
