The 29km long river Brent, named after the goddess Briguntia (bringer of poetry, springtime and love) runs through the southern edge of Perivale Park on its way to Hanwell and the river Thames.
The charity Thames21 has produced a wonderful little history of the river, which you can see at https://youtu.be/hJMxPqMFDfk. This film shows a number of locations in the park; can you spot them all?
There is no mention (unless I missed it) of eels, their long association with the river and their future in it. But it does nicely tell the story of how it is being restored and how wildlife is returning to it. Well worth watching!
