Ealing council has just announced a project to bring Beavers back to Ealing. Watch this clip to see Councillor Deirdre Costigan telling us about the project.
We do not hear in the clip where the beavers will be introduced, but possibly the large pond in Paradise fields close to Horsenden hill, and just a little north of Perivale Park. No doubt the location will soon be revealed (see below).
Now, what about those eels in the river Brent?
This article: https://londonist.com/london/latest-news/beaver-ealing-reintroduction-project-paradise-fields-rewilding confirms that the site will be in Paradise fields. This follows a plan to introduce them into Forty Hall (Enfield): https://metro.co.uk/2022/03/17/beavers-are-native-in-london-again-for-the-first-time-in-400-years-16291086/
As a rather different point of interest, Green park way, shown with the magenta arrow in the map above, is the site of ventilation shafts for the HS2 tunnel, and is also where the tunnel digging machines will emerge when their job is done.
