In April, I wrote about the Cuckoo estate and the associated Cuckoo park, which is just south of Perivale Park.
The latter had been sown with a flower border just before the lockdown and was waiting for rain. Now in August, it has indeed rained and this has transformed the borders. You can see the clock tower from the famous Hanwell community centre in the background, a sight that Charlie Chaplin himself might have often seen.
A plant you find in the various seed mixes that Ealing parks have used this year is the sunflower. Some are really dwarf, with the flower perhaps ⅓ of the height of the plant itself, whilst others are gigantic.
