To the east of the railway line connecting Greenford and West Ealing stations, a new wetlands is taking shape.
The flow from the stream that will feed these ponds is still small, being the drainage from the nearby housing estate in Stockdove way. As the winter rains come, we hope that the ponds will fill. The final stage will be to sculpt the spill from the excavations and cover it with spring flowers. It should be quite a sight! Hey, we will need a visitor centre next.
Update: 2nd October, 2019 After more torrential rain, these three separate ponds have now merged into a single lake.
