A few events in the park this April. In the spring glade at the northern entrance, the snake’s head fritillaries have made their expected April appearance, with more are flowering every day now. Very nice close up!
Preparing the central meadow for this year’s flowing, which is more complicated than you might imagine. A special tool to prepare the ground by inserting drainage holes should lower the chances of this meadow flooding, as it has been prone to in the past. Given some rain, we should start seeing the first flowers late June or so.
And Trees for Cities have been unexpectedly active again, planting around 200 cherry, pear and mulberry trees adjacent to the central flower meadow.
